The jobs of the chief executives of Bank of America Corp and Citigroup Inc may not be all that secure if the government decides that the capital it has brought in is not enough to restore the banks health. Kenneth Lewis and Vikram Pandit are under lot of pressure after the Wall Street Journal reported that the banks may need to raise more capital, this conclusion is based on governments “stress tests” of large lenders. Both Bank of America and Citigroup officials declined any comment on this. But the precedents by the government suggest that they are into replacing the chief executive officers of all the companies asking government aid.
